ROUND TABLE "THE ROLE OF CROSS-BORDER MIGRATION IN REDUCING SOCIO-ECONOMIC DISPARITIES"

On December 17, 2021, at the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) was organized a Round Table, which raised an issue of national interest regarding the role of cross-border migration in reducing socio-economic disparities (including migration for studies in/from the Republic of Moldova).

This event celebrates International Migrant Day, which is celebrated every year on December 18.

The main objectives of the round table:

- increasing the level of information and rising the awareness of decision-makers, academia and the scientific community on the importance of monitoring and effectively managing cross-border migration;

- stimulating the contribution of researchers, academics to the study of current migration trends and challenges at European, regional and national level;

- promoting the academic and public debates on topics of common interest with reference to the issue of cross-border migration, etc.

The event was attended by the administration of ASEM, representatives of decision-making institutions, academia and civil society interested in migration.

The event was attended by about 60 people online and aprox. 15 persons on site.
