Round table "MIGRATION, REMITTANCES AND DEVELOPMENT: THE EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL EXPERIENCE"

On April 19, 2021, the Round Table "MIGRATION, SENDING AND DEVELOPMENT: THE EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL EXPERIENCE" was organized. The event was organized within the EUMIGRA project, in online format, on the ZOOM digital platform, thus being possible the presence of participants both from Moldova and from abroad, especially from Romania.

The event was opened by Mr. Mihai Hachi, PhD., associate professor, coordinator of the project, expressing his gratitude for the interest presented by the participants, while mentioning the topicality and importance of migration phenomena and the imbalances created by Covid 19 on them.

The round table was moderated by Mr. Dorin Vaculovschi, PhD, associate professor, university professor, member of EUMIGRA project, stating the role of migration, remittances and their effect on the European and national economy. In such a context, PhD students, master students and students of several faculties within ASEM met to discuss the effects, impact, results and role of migration, demography, remittances on the development of the national and world economy.

It is worth mentioning the initial intervention of Angela Belobrov, Adviser to the Prime Minister's Office, which shows the major interest that administrative structures have in research activities, ie close collaboration between academia and the state. The main topics discussed and presented were: "The flow of remittances: from challenges to development", "The impact of Covid-19 on migration flows", "The impact of migration on the economic development of the Republic of Moldova".
