On 12th May 2023, representatives of national and international academia, students, master's students, PhD students, members of civil society to the International Scientific Jean Monnet Conference „Migration – the context of new realities in Central and Eastern Europe”, organized at the premises of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM).

 The event was held in a mixed format, impressing by the large number of participants, about 150 participants from over 15 countries, including USA, France, Brazil, Romania, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, Spain etc.,

 The purpose of the conference was to bring together scientific researchers, academia, civil society and other stakeholders to debate on the current challenges of international migration in a geopolitically "hot" region marked by major political and socio-economic changes.

 The topics addressed during the conference were structured in 3 main panels, moderated by Dr., Prof., Rodica CRUDU, Dr., Prof., Marina POPA, Dr., Prof., Mihai HACHI, Dr., Prof., Dorin VACULOVSCHI, Dr., Prof., Liliana CIMPOIEȘ, focusing on the following themes:

• Migration: national and regional economic, social and political security;
• Return migration - an important factor of human capital development in the Republic of Moldova.
• Current and future challenges of migration in Central and Eastern Europe;

 PUBLICATION: Papers presented during the conference were published in a thematic issue of the scientific journal Eastern European Journal of Regional Studies / EEJRS
